Approximately 27% of rural Vietnamese
families live in poverty and 69% of minority families live
in poverty. Due to extreme poverty, insufficient education
and medical care there are tens of thousands of orphaned children
in Vietnam. The Foundation has established a school for disabled
children in Huê´. The children receive physical
therapy, two nutritious meals per day, an education and skill
training designed to help them become self-sufficient contributing
members of society.

Since 2009, the Foundation and adoptive families of children from Hue raised enough funds to continue the program through 2011 and expand it to include medical and dental care for the children. As the AFCF was recently granted a renewal of its humanitarian aid license by the Vietnamese government for two more years, we are seeking $36,000 to keep this vital program running in 2012 and 2013.
